“The happiest man is he who learns from nature the lesson of worship.”
(Ralph Waldo Emerson)
People worship God in various ways. I was lucky enough to experience two totally different ways of loving God.
Having finished a retreat for girls just a few days ago, I discovered how silence is not always deadly. Silence can actually lead us closer to God. Through meditation and spiritual direction, we can purposefully pull ourselves towards the Lord. It is not only good for the body, it is also healthy for the mind.
Joining Elim has showed me that you do not have to be silent and serious all the time (though there should always be time for this): worshiping God can be really fun. We can love Him and be happy and laugh all at the same time.
With the time given to me, I was able to discover another life lesson: You can worship God everywhere. We have no reason to forget to worship Him because we can pray anywhere. It does not matter what religion you are in. What matters is that you pray to your god, Buddha, Allah, whoever. Try to get closer to him. You have no excuse not to.
